How We Help Homeowners

PhResi is here to guide the solar industry back to where it started. We believe in paying
off your electricity, instead of paying for it. Our solar solutions make environmental and financial
sense so that you have peace of mind while saving thousands.

With first-class installation crews, top tier equipment, and industry leading solar PV engineers,
we strive to be the absolute best. Your system will cost nothing upfront, save you money on day
one, and put your electricity money to good use.

How Solar Works

The first step in managing your electricity money in a smarter way is to understand the key components of the solar process.

The four most important parts are the solar panel, the solar inverter, your home consumption, and the utility net-meter. Study the diagram on your left and click “Learn More” to read how sunlight produces
clean usable power for your home during the day, at night, with sunshine, and in the rain.

What Are The Benefits of Going Solar?

Going solar means finally ending your electric bills and the price hikes that go with them. The goal is to lower how much you pay for electricity and lock that low price in for decades.

In short, utility companies overcharge for what is a relatively cheap product — electricity. Going solar with Ph allows you to produce your own electricity so you don’t have to pay those high prices any longer.

Getting Qualified

Interested now in going solar with Ph? There are two stages for qualification

  • 1. Find out if your home qualifies by scheduling a site audit
  • 2. Get pre-approved with our most trusted bank

Worried about credit? Our bank runs a soft pull when they pre-approve candidates, so you never have
to worry about your score being affected when researching if solar is right for you.

A solar panel is a collection of solar cells. Cells are doped up sheets of silicon that get
excited by sunlight and then release a stream of electrons (or current), more commonly
known as electricity. Because this process (known as the photoelectric effect) requires
no movement, the panels are extremely durable and have warranties that are upwards
of 20 years.

The solar inverter is the most important and only piece of equipment with moving parts.
You can think of it as the brain of the system, as it plays a critical role in converting your
solar DC electricity into usable AC electricity for your home. Because the inverter is the
engine of the system, we use one of the highest quality inverters on the market in order
to prevent problems before they can arise. Scroll below to the “Our Equipment” section
to learn more about Ph’s inverters and how they set us apart from the
competition.

On sunny days your solar system will deliver electricity into your home, become your
main source of power, and feed any extra electricity back into the electric grid (a
process otherwise known as back-feeding). You will live as you normally do in your
home, using your power as you need while your system takes care of the rest.

Net metering is the process in which your electric meter can spin forward and
backwards to credit you for the extra power your system generated on bright sunny
days. Right now, you have a meter on the side of your home or in your basement that
keeps track of the kilo-watt hours (kWh’s) used by your home. As you use more
electricity, the meter spins forward. When you go solar, the utility will swap out your old
meter for a “net-meter.” This meter allows the utility to track the electricity being both
given to and taken from the utility. It will spin forward when your home is “net” using
power and backwards when your home is “net” producing power. Our engineers
measure precisely how much electricity you use each year and build a system that will
offset any electricity you would normally need to buy. This shows our customers how it
is possible to eliminate the never ending, always escalating electric bills.

Here is an example of a standard electric bill. At the top, you can see your current charges. At the bottom right, you can see on average how many kWh’s you use per day throughout all the months in the year. This usage data dictates how large of a solar system we will build to offset all your power.

Now look at the image on your left showing you the breakdown of your system and delivery charges. Three charges will be listed: basic service, first KWH, and next KWH. The “first” and “next” charges are the two different kWh rates the utility charges depending on the time of year. Below that are supply charges for the fuels used to produce all that electricity. The last line is for taxes, which are a flat percentage of all the other charges. You read that right, four different charges plus taxes just for electricity! When you go solar, all these charges will be dropped to zero!

Still don’t believe us? On the right is an example of a customer who went solar in April and immediately eliminated these charges. Notice they are no longer paying for electricity generated by the utility and now the bill shows a negative balance of $94.34. This means the utility could owe you money if you make the switch to solar.

You’re not paying the utility for electricity anymore. Who would you be paying?

While most homeowners do not buy their system upfront, those that do pay nothing for
electricity after their initial purchase.

The alternate option is to use fixed solar loan payments that will be lower per month
than your electricity bills from before going solar. Ph Renewables partners with premier
banks that empower you to replace your electricity bill with a smaller fixed loan
payment that will end after a set number of years. This length of time can also be
reduced if you choose to pay off your loan’s balance earlier than expected since there
are no prepayment penalties!

Most of our homeowners save between $10,000 and $100,000 over the lifetime of their
solar system. If during qualification, we find that powering your home with solar will
cost you more than your monthly utility bill, (which is very unlikely) we will show you a
breakdown to explain why this is the case, and let you know how you may be able to go
solar in the future. To see if you qualify, go to our “Getting Qualified” section or speak to us today!
